Akova group consists of three complementary companies in three separate buildings, Akova Impex Sarajevo, sales and distribution company, Ovako Meat Industry from Sarajevo, and Brovis Visoko, company for production of fresh and frozen chicken meat.
In its portfolio, the Group has over 200 different products, all of which, including chicken, have been sold under the distinctive brand, "Ovako". Over twenty years, the Group launched a number of brands, now recognisable not only in BiH, but also on the market covering former Yugoslavia. Some of the Group’s top brands in various categories include: Perfetta pâté, Chicken pâté, Pilka programme, Ovako Beef Stew, Delikates Chicken Breasts, Ovako Smoked Filet, Ovako Grill Sausage, and well known Mini and Jumbo hotdogs.
Akova Group rose from the Džafić family tradition and entrepreneurial spirit. In the 1980s, experience of generations in production of meat and meat products resulted in the opening of one, and then a chain of fast food restaurants in Sarajevo, called "AKOVA".
Today, Akova Group is among the leading food companies in Bosnia and Herzegovina and in the region. Products of the Akova Group, placed on the market under the Ovako brand, have their place on the markets of Serbia, Montenegro, Macedonia, Albania, Kosovo, Emirates, New Zealand, and Hong Kong. Akova Group has around 1000 employees. Its main office is in Sarajevo, production plants are in Sarajevo and Visoko, and its distribution centres are in Sarajevo, Visoko, Tuzla, and Bihać.
